Health & Safety: Health Issues
Attendance Advice
Our recommendation is to always seek your GP or specialist advice on any health or health related issue and take the advice of those trained to provide it. Some managers may think they know everything but unless they have the qualifications they cannot advise you and cannot sign you off.
Fit Notes
The old ‘sick notes’ no longer exist and GP’s now provide fit notes that can detail, when appropriate, temporary adjustments to help to get someone back to work.
Access to Work
Access to work can help you if you require help with your day to day working life whether it’s equipment, a support worker, or even assistance with extra costs of getting to work due to your disability.
CWU Health Information
The CWU has produced a number of documents concerning various health issues. Many of these issues can be registered as disabilities depending upon severity and other factors. If you would like further advice, please contact the Branch.
